  • Develop, test, and optimize laser manufacturing processes (cutting, welding, marking, etc.) by establishing and refining parameters for various metals, alloys, and polymers to ensure quality, consistency, and throughput.
  • Collaborate with process engineers, design engineers, and production teams to integrate laser systems into manufacturing workflows.
  • Optimize process parameters (beam power, speed, focus, assist gases, etc.) to meet quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concept trials for new products and materials.
  • Troubleshoot laser equipment and processes to minimize downtime and ensure stable, repeatable performance.
  • Work with equipment vendors and suppliers to evaluate and install new laser systems.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for operators and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with ANSI Z136 laser safety standards and company EHS policies.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance, calibration, and upgrades of laser systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and yield improvement.

Education, Skills and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum three (3) years of experience with industrial laser processing (cutting, welding, marking, drilling, or additive manufacturing). Strong understanding of laser-material interactions and process parameter development. Familiarity with robotics, automation, and motion control systems used with laser equipment. Ability to read technical drawings and collaborate with design/production teams. Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.
