Job Summary:

The Medical Technologist performs routine and special tests according to written protocols to determine test results that will assist in diagnosing and treating patients.

Requirements:
Technologist:
- Bachelor’s Degree in biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution;
- Completion of a twelve-month clinical laboratory training program approved by the U.S. Department of Education and/or accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or equivalent;
- Completion of a nationally recognized certification examination for clinical laboratory scientists, such as that offered by the America Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in the English language required.
Technician:
- Associates Degree in a biological, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science;
- Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education and/or accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or equivalent;
- Completion of a nationally recognized certification examination for clinical laboratory technicians, such as that offered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in the English language required.
