Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Materials Engineer whose primary responsibility is to conduct a wide range of metallographic evaluations of metallic and non-metallic materials. Provide technical assistance to customers and co-workers, with focus on quality, standardization, and continuous improvement. 

Responsibilities

  • Meet and interact with customers to define evaluation processes and techniques
  • Write procedures that describe test and evaluation methods
  • Review existing procedures for accuracy and update when needed
  • Perform sample preparation steps of section, mount, grind, and polish metallurgical test specimens following laboratory procedures published by customer and relevant industry specifications

Skills / Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Materials Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a laboratory performing titrations and report Nickel Plated analysis
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of metallurgical testing equipment and operating in lab and / or industrial environment
  • Exceptional communication skills
