Job: Energy Modeling Engineer (2+ Years Experience with IES Software)

Location: Irving, TX

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Energy Modeling Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in building energy simulations and performance analysis, specifically using IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) software. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating the energy efficiency and sustainability of buildings by performing energy modeling, energy optimization, and supporting the design of energy-efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed energy modeling, calculations and simulations using IES software (VE) to evaluate building performance in terms of energy consumption, heating, cooling, lighting, and HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to provide energy analysis and recommendations for energy-efficient designs and sustainable building practices.
  • Prepare energy models for compliance with local and international building energy codes and certification systems (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Conduct daylighting analysis, thermal comfort studies, and HVAC load simulations to support building design optimization.
  • Provide energy simulations for both new construction projects and retrofits, helping to minimize energy use while maximizing comfort and performance.
  • Analyze and interpret energy modeling results, generating reports that communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and regulations related to energy modeling and building performance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience using IES (Integrated Environmental Solutions) software for energy modeling and building performance simulation.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, energy-efficient design principles, HVAC, lighting systems, and sustainable design practices.
  • Proficiency in energy modeling, simulation, and analysis, particularly for commercial and residential buildings.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, energy standards, and sustainability certifications (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED, BREEAM, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
  • Opportunities for career growth and professional development.
  • Comprehensive health benefits and wellness programs.
  • Flexible work schedule with options
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment.

If you are passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability, and you are looking to make a meaningful impact in the built environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity
