Commercial Business Consultant - Economist Description Client has an opening for a Commercial Business Consultant (Economist), located in Houston, Texas. RDS serves the oil & gas industry in developing reservoir-driven solutions covering the full asset life cycle, from the earliest phases of project development through abandonment. Analyzes the problem statement to define what types of data should be gathered and searches for required data. Develops more critical analytical skills, making recommendations to the project manager for possible solutions. Analyzes price and fiscal data to develop forward trends. Performs field cash flows for project economics and reserves determinations. May lead small project teams or manage simple projects. Handles special projects, as assigned. Skills/Knowledge: Excellent problem solving skills with a drive for results. Must be action oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong client focus. Excellent written and verbal communication. Must be able to work both independently and as part of multi-disciplined teams working with an extensive client base. Must be highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with industry experts and exhibits knowledge of industry-specific technical software. Ability to work within predefined time and budget constraints. Strong commercial and business acumen. Sound knowledge and understanding of applicable business and industry. Advanced skill level in the application of databases, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to extract data from a number of industry sources. Sound knowledge of financial transactions/reporting and economic evaluation guidelines and concepts. Experience in upstream Oil & Gas International Economics and Risk Analysis is a must. As well, the candidate must: • Be a Cash flow modeling expert • Have the ability to understand/design contract and fiscal frameworks • A good understanding of upstream E&P industry Is a must • Managerial and mentoring abilities required • Excellent English language capabilities – Spanish / Arabic / French a plus • Ideally 5 to 15yrs of relevant experience Education/Experience/Training: Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5 years relevant work experience; or Master's Degree with minimum of 3 years relevant work experience; or PhD with minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
