Job Description
American Iron and Metal, (AIM) is a growth-oriented metal recycling and processing company located in Erie Pennsylvania. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Full-time Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.
We are looking for someone who is a motivated, tenacious, eager to learn and take on a challenge.
Responsibilities will include:
Inspect, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical and operating equipment; troubleshoot equipment in order to determine proper methods and materials necessary for maintenance and repair.
Responsible for knowing and following appropriate safety procedures in order to make safety checks and for coordinating with operations personnel regarding clearances to initiate maintenances and repair activities.
Perform maintenance on equipment ie. change conveyor belts or repair conveyor components gearboxes, head and tail pulleys, bearings and rollers Change side skirts on conveyors, grease and check oil lines, change V-belts,
The knowledge and ability to help with hammer work, welding, cutting
string understanding of LOTO
Qualifications
Aptitude for understanding and using machines and tools
Ability to work at heights
Ability to work indoors/outdoors in all weather conditions
Manual Finger Dexterity, hand ey coordination, depth perception
Understanding of constructional signals
Ability to consistently lift or move up to 100lbs
Must be able to stand, reach, walk stoop and crawl
Maintain balance on catwalks and narrow places.
Ability to work as a team
Familar with OSHA regulations
Excellent attendance and safety record.
Ability to communicate effectively
