The Staff Process Engineer will play a pivotal role within project teams, contributing to the creation of cutting-edge designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across diverse sectors such as power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities. Collaborating closely with the project team throughout the design and construction phases, the Staff Process Engineer will adeptly adjust process plans to accommodate budget constraints, design considerations, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead process design efforts from conceptualization through design completion.
Review and modify production drawings for various projects, spanning power plants, process facilities, industrial complexes, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial spaces, and governmental/military facilities.
Design process components tailored to project specifications and requirements outlined by project managers.
Apply a robust understanding of prevalent process engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the process engineering services industry.
Conduct research and compile project-related data as needed by project managers.
Verify corrections in drawings provided by senior engineers using multiple CAD-related software.
Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for diverse facility designs.
Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
Adhere to all company policies and standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program and a minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience (consulting preferred). or
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and a minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience (consulting preferred). or
Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of process engineering experience (consulting preferred).
Skills and Attributes:
Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Methodical and analytical approach to quantitative problem-solving, with demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficiency in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficient in process simulation software (e.g., Hysys and/or Aspen, HTRI).
Strong attention to detail, with facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification Preferred.
