Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a Mid-Level Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on front-end development to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. In this role, you will leverage your skills across the full technology stack to design, build, and deliver secure, scalable applications that directly support mission-critical operations. From developing intuitive user interfaces to building robust back-end systems, you’ll have the opportunity to own projects from concept to deployment in a fast-paced, Agile environment.

If you’re passionate about solving complex problems and want your work to make a real impact, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop front-end applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue).

  • Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using HTML and CSS.

  • Develop server-side applications with Java, C#, or Python to support back-end functionality.

  • Conduct usability analysis and develop automated tests (unit and end-to-end) to ensure code quality and reliability.

  • Collaborate closely with other developers, engineers, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.

  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to switch between different programming languages as needed.

  • Contribute to building secure, scalable, and reliable applications leveraging Kafka, Kubernetes, Git, Node.js, SQL, and Python.

  • Support the full software development lifecycle from concept through production deployment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of combined experience developing web applications with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue, including building HTML and CSS.

  • Experience with server-side development in Java, C#, or Python.

  • Experience with usability analysis and automated testing (unit and end-to-end).

  • Ability to adapt to and learn new programming languages as required.

  • Experience working collaboratively with software development teams.

  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Git, Node.js, SQL, and Python.

  • Active TS/SCI

Desired Qualifications

  • DoD 8570 compliant certification (Security+ or CISSP) prior to contract start.

  • Experience with Java Spring Framework.

  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jasmine, Karma, Selenium).

  • Experience with Linux scripting (Bash or Perl).

  • Experience using JavaScript visualization libraries (D3, Leaflet, AG Grid).

  • Knowledge of information security principles.

  • Experience with Agile or Kanban development methodologies.

  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, and GitHub/GitLab.

  • Knowledge of web standards and protocols: JavaScript, JSON, REST, CORS, web architecture, and HTTP specification.
