Job Summary:
As a Sr. Freight Broker for Pyle, you will develop skills for prospecting, relationship management, negotiation, communication, and teamwork. You will serve as a liaison between shippers and carriers to secure the transportation of products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Generate leads, prospect potential customers, and develop a sales pipeline
- Make cold calls, warm lead calls and closing calls
- Negotiating market level pricing with customers and carriers
- Handling all data entry points for shipments. including scheduling
- Developing and Managing Truckload carriers who embody a service first approach
- Selecting carriers for shipments who can deliver safely, on-time, and damage free
- Building multi-level relationships with customers and carriers
- Overseeing the timely pickup, tracking, delivery, documentation and invoicing of freight for your customers and carriers
- Collaborating with claims and finance during exception management
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Freight Broker
- Please note that the Pyle Brokerage division has multiple tiers of Freight Brokers based on experience, including a fast track role (Level I) where we will provide the training and development needed for success
- Demonstrated positive attitude; team-first mindset
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers and suppliers
- Must be growth oriented, motivated, and have a sense of urgency
- Understanding of DAT, other load boards, or additional pricing technologies
- Basic understanding of how lanes fluctuate based on seasonality and external events
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in MS Office
- Previously built a cradle to grave freight portfolio averaging over $17.5K/month net revenue
