Qualifications:

* High School diploma or GED and college credits in early childhood are required

* NYS Teacher Assistant Certification-(ATAS) within six months of hire date. State Central Registry Clearance; Workshop- School Violence Intervention and Prevention.

* Good communication skills and a demonstrated willingness and aptitude working for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Assist the assigned teacher as requested in all areas of the daily classroom routine.

Assist the children as requested by the teacher; maintain health and safety of the classroom environment by performing assigned tasks.

May be required to attend evening meetings.

Prepare classroom materials as requested by teacher.
