Job Summary:
The Program Director (PD) for Business serves in a high-level leadership role overseeing all academic and administrative operations for the program/programs that they oversee. This includes setting and monitoring strategic goals for the program including financial stability of the program, recruitment of students, marketing and sales related to the program, oversight of staff and faculty, course and programmatic assessment and evaluation, and the overall development of students studying in the programs.
Responsibilities:
- Support students throughout the entire student life cycle to include helping students to identify a program, advising throughout the program, and assisting students with making connections to their eventual career upon graduation.
- Manage and drive departmental targets related to enrollment, including the recruitment of new students and the retention of continuing students; identify financial targets and develop strategies to promote and maintain financial sustainability for the program; develop new strategies for new streams of revenue for the unit as applicable.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and partners; ensure accuracy of printed and online materials and information about the program(s); manage relationships with alumni to keep them connected and engaged, to engage with current students, and to assist with program visibility within their firms; coordinate program efforts for marketing and promotion; publicize program(s) by creating, updating and distributing publicity and marketing
- Represent the academic program’s interests in both internal and external endeavors, which may include: coordinating program advisory boards; serving as a liaison between the program and other campus academic and administrative units; and participating in community events in which the program is represented.
- Oversee all program planning and evaluation activities, including: the review or development of curricula; collecting, analyzing, and reporting on survey results; coordinating assessment efforts and the collection of valid and reliable data; reviewing student and employer evaluations to identify areas for improvement; and oversight of program accreditation, as applicable.
- Manage the program’s curriculum to ensure that the content is continually up-to-date, innovative, and reflective of requirements of the eventual career trajectories of students; review current programs regularly and propose new programs when needed.
- Ensure that quality faculty are hired and credentialed to teach in their assigned areas; serve as a resource for educational development of faculty; evaluate faculty and facilitate improvement of their instructional performance; and ensure that faculty are supported in their daily work.
- Develop schedule of courses and prepare course schedule every semester and assign respective faculty; review and approve course syllabi before every semester; approve textbooks; update textbooks lists
