Position Description
The Voice & Network Administrator's role is to plan, coordinate and support the installation and connectivity of voice and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the IT infrastructure. The Voice & Network Administrator is also responsible for the Telecom infrastructure which includes upgrading, configuring, and optimizing all telephone systems. Your future duties and responsibilities
* Respond to incoming work orders, trouble tickets, and emails regarding equipment of connectivity problems
* Create documentation on voice configurations, network mapping, circuit identification and processes
* Maintain policies and procedures for voice infrastructure deployments
* Collaborate with Engineering teams to determine network capacity and implement strategic plans
* Support overall network infrastructure, which includes providing performance testing, physical wiring support and configuration, and LAN closets maintenance
* Support VoIP infrastructure including call management system, voicemail, physical telecom devices and wire management for voice and data connections
* Actively monitor FootPrints ticketing system or email for new support inquiries and requests. Respond to issues in a timely manner, communicate necessary information to relevant support teams & impacted staff, and document resolution
* Maintain a data repository and knowledge base of information related to systems and devices that are supported by both the Network and Voice Administrators
* Participate in strategic planning exercises to develop and implement new technology or equipment into the IT infrastructure
* Proactively conduct performance testing for network continuity, ensuring that all circuits and networking equipment is operating at peek potential
* Provide administration, installation and support for physical phones and voicemail to staff including conference call services Required qualifications to be successful in this role
* Working knowledge of VoIP architecture, voicemail, and call management systems
* Experience with network wiring infrastructure, and general network management best practices
* Proven ability to configure and maintain routers, switches, and access points
* Strong knowledge of networking management and analysis tools
* Strong technical knowledge of current and legacy network hardware, software, protocols and internet standards
* Installs, tests and repairs telecommunications and network equipment. Interfaces with client at client site. Performs all functions to meet customer and company specifications and to client's satisfaction.
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
* 3-5 years of experience in related field or as a network administrator/engineer
* Industry standard certifications such as: CCNA, CCNP,CCIE At CGI, we're a team of builders.
