Overview:
The Copywriter is responsible for using his/her writing and referencing skills to enhance the Agency’s copy offerings to the client. The Copywriter is responsible for understanding the copy platform for each assigned account.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate ability to develop creative work that is on strategy, with regular supervision.
- Demonstrate strong conceptual potential.
- Develop understanding of basic marketing principles.
- Demonstrate excellent writing skills.
- Attend regular status meetings.
- Prepare and submit work for Med/Legal and DDMAC approval.
- Develop adequate understanding of market research to create test materials and be an effective research attendee.
- Demonstrate ability to accurately reference and annotate all work.
- Work closely with editors to ensure accuracy in all work.
- Develop knowledge of client's business-both the brand itself and people involved.
- Research medical and scientific information that pertains to Agency brands.
- Interact daily with Project Management, Art Directors, and Account Executive or Assistant AE.
- Maintain positive relationships with internal business group departments such as Editorial and Project Management.
- Develop presentation skills and gain confidence presenting to others.
- Understand the creative process-follow jobs from startup into production.
- Ensure all final products released are of a superior quality.
- Assist copywriter or senior copywriter on various tasks/projects.
- Demonstrate ability to set priorities while handling multiple tasks.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both clients and staff.
- Keep supervisor up-to-date on all projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Experience:
- College degree.
- 1-2 years of experience, preferably in advertising or related field.
- Proficiency with word processing programs.
- Copywriter portfolio, or "spec" portfolio demonstrating strong creative abilities.
- Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge, background and/or interest in science and medicine.

Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs.
