Basic Responsibilities :
Responsible for design, configuration, installation, maintenance and on-going support of all Windows and Citrix servers located at multiple facilities. Maintain virus software and any other applications affiliated with the OS and/or Citrix servers.This includes troubleshooting problems in the Citrix environment, maintaining patches and licenses, systems security, installing systems software, hardware upgrades, monitoring server performance and tuning system parameters as needed, and reporting results. The Windows/ Citrix administrator is also responsible for completing projects assigned by IT management and for reporting project progress and project status against objectives.
Specific Responsibilities :
The Specific responsibilities of the Windows/Citrix Administrator entail the following:
1 Troubleshooting day-to-day support of the Citrix and Windows server environment.
2 Request and verify system backups on all applicable Windows and Citrix servers
3 Build, maintain, and distribute published apps to all Citrix farms.
4 Maintain systems software updates and patches on all systems listed above.
5 Install software upgrades as needed.
6 Monitor system disk space and utilization and adjust as necessary to maintain balanced I/O activity
7 Evaluate system resource usage, forecast future capacity requirements and make system upgrade recommendations accordingly
8 Track statistical analysis of server performance, uptime, capacity usage, etc.
9 Provide support for the IT Service Desk on escalated trouble tickets.
Minimum requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008 server
- Experience with security configurations for Microsoft-based servers and services
- At least 2 years experience administering Citrix XenApp 6.5
- Microsoft and Citrix Certification required
- VMware experience a big plus
- Customer service focused
- Excellent verbal communication and user interface skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Experience in a medium to large-scale computer/systems environment
