Friendship Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for a full time Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources is directly responsible for the strategic planning and overall administration of the HR department functions that provide services and programs for all associates. These functions include: Compensation & Benefits; Employee & Labor Relations; Employment Services; Staff & Leadership Training; Organization Development; Performance Management; Recognition & Retention; and Regulatory Compliance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Promote the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of FSO by exhibiting professional and ethical work practices
Facilitate the planning and coordination of the efforts of the HR department and all HR-related activities to ensure the appropriate utilization of resources to meet individual and organizational needs
Provide services to other departments in accordance with overall organizational strategic goals and priorities by performing the following:
Develop & align HR budget with department and organizational strategic goals; monitor to ensure the best possible financial and operational outcomes
Provide leadership support to the HR staff
Direct over site of HR programs and activities as described in the Summary Statement above
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations
Participate and contribute to the strategic planning process and assume the accountability for HR’s role in facilitating successful outcomes
Provide counsel and make recommendations to organizational structure and development plans (i.e. succession plans; talent retention/coaching, etc.) to ensure continuous high performance mission-driven leadership
Participate in the development of formal Staff & Leadership Development Programs to ensure key competencies are identified and learning opportunities are provided as part of the continuous efforts talent management and on-going retention of associates
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
10-15 years of diverse experience in managing a range of administrative areas of responsibility. Degree from Accredited College required; Masters degree or equivalent; or ten to fifteen years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR certification required; SPHR preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to work well with people, being persuasive and demonstrating problem solving skills as needed.
Able to work effectively with various constituencies (residents, associates, vendors, community leaders, board members, etc.)
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Able to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex human resources related documents. Respond respectfully and effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.
Extensive knowledge of principles of human resources, including commonly used guidelines and laws on employment and liability.
Extensive knowledge of performance management and customer-service programs.
