Who we are: La Clínica de La Raza is a community-based health center committed to providing culturally appropriate, high-quality, and accessible health care to the diverse communities of the San Francisco Bay Area. We have spent over 40 years advocating for and creating a health home for the many that have been denied access to care. As health care activists, we are dedicated to making sure individuals who do not have health coverage get the same level of quality healthcare as those who have it. From our genesis as a community health center in 1971, we understood that we cannot heal our communities without also addressing the economic and social factors that affect health. Many times, this requires that we go outside and provide services in other settings to build the bridge that links individuals to our health center for preventive and primary care. Over 86,000 individuals come to La Clínica because it is a welcoming place that addresses the whole person, coordinating and connecting them to a broad network of services to improve and maintain their health and well-being. While we are still known for our activism and spirit of social justice, we are also proud to have grown into a sophisticated provider of primary health care services with 35 sites across Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties.

Who you are: As a Mental Health Supervisor you will have the opportunity to provide critical and invaluable contributions to a team of behavioral health providers that primarily serves the Latino population. You will provide clinical and administrative supervision to Behavioral Health staff and students to ensure that quality services are provided in a professional manner. Supervisor tasks include: reviewing cases, monitoring treatment, care plans, clinical care, and documentation to ensure quality and appropriateness of services and professional services. As clinical services are at the foundation of the work you do, supervisors will be expected to have a small caseload of clients.

The Behavioral Health Department of La Clinica de La Raza is currently able to grant awards of up to $25,000 to qualified staff who are not participating in any other loan repayment programs and who meet the eligibility requirements, many of which are determined by the funder. The application portal opens once a year in the fall and will reopen again in 2024. La Clinica staff will be able to apply for this loan after six months of employment.

Additionally, you will implement quality assurance plans, including chart reviews, monitor clinical interventions and documentation of services to ensure quality and appropriateness of services, including risk management. You will participate in program development to improve program quality and to expand BH services by providing input and recommendations. You will be required to keeps records of supervision in accordance with standards set by the California BBS. You will complete staff evaluations in collaboration with department managers, complete staff evaluations, evaluate workloads, assign work and provide training to behavioral health staff as needed. Lastly, you may also be involved in personnel functions include on-boarding, training and staff development as well as making personnel recommendations to the Clinical Director.

This role is most suited for an LCSW, MFT or Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 2 years post-licensure experience providing clinical supervision to both licensed and unlicensed staff. The ideal candidate is well versed in community mental health, crisis intervention, case management, diagnosis and treatment with families, children, and adults with a wide range of behavioral health conditions. This role requires flexibility in meeting client's needs and calls for an individual who is familiar with principles of cognitive-behavioral strategies and other evidence-based practices.

Overall success in this position will require organizational and time management skills, a high degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and clients, and thorough knowledge of the professional code of ethics and CA mental health code/requirements for LPHAs (Licensed Professionals of the Healing Arts). The position reports to the Clinical Director. If you are eager to join a culture that is committed to top quality care then make La Clinica the place where you can make a difference.
