Real Estate Practice
This is an entry-level position within the firm’s national Real Estate Practice. In this role, team members will work with clients in Affordable Housing and Historic Tax Credit Services in a dynamic team environment. The Real Estate Practice provides opportunities to complete audits from start to finish.
RubinBrown’s national Real Estate Practice provides services to a broad range of clientele, including:
- Investment funds
- Real estate partnerships
- Developers
- Management companies
- Governmental agencies
- Syndicators and investors
- Financial institutions
- Construction-related companies
The ideal candidate will have the desire to contribute immediately to the development of a premier national Real Estate Practice.
Major Responsibilities
- Understand general accounting and auditing procedures based on the level of service provided.
- Plan and execute the day-to-day activities of assurance engagements of various clients in accordance with RubinBrown Client Service Standards.
- Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to other engagement team members.
- Preparation of fieldwork and financial statements, as appropriate.
- Identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Direct communication with clients.
- Participate in the budget process.
- The team member will be assigned to work on a variety of clients in various industries.
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; a Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in the technology environment.
- Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).
- Exhibit a basic understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
- Perform work accurately and in a timely fashion, with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under close supervision, while utilizing continuous feedback.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to work 40+ hours/week with possible Saturdays during busy season.
