About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Sr. Buyer to join our team in Duluth, GA. This role executes the sourcing process for assigned business areas and implements policies and programs
directed towards providing contracted services and materials. This role develops and executes complex sourcing agreements containing unique terms and conditions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and understand market trends.
- Analyze responses to complex bid requests, point out commercial differences, and make succinct recommendations in selecting appropriate suppliers for contract awards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with business units and suppliers, and conducts complex negotiations successfully under aggressive time demands.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop sourcing plans to meet their needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the sourcing and procurement function.
- Drive down the total cost of ownership, and assists in managing the external spend.
- Participate in sourcing data analysis, forecasting and planning.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, including conducting supplier evaluations and audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations related to sourcing and procurement activities.
- Conduct business dealings with the highest level of integrity and regard for corporate guidelines, legal and environmental regulations.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education:
- High School diploma and or GED. Bachelors degree in business or technical discipline preferred.
Knowledge / training:
- Excel, Word and ERP system (SAP preferred).
- APICS Certification a plus.
Experience:
- 5-10+ years of related experience in the industry.
