The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time ABA board-certified/eligible Nocturnist Anesthesiologist to join our practice at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN and the M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.

Practice Highlights:

  • Flexibility to determine the number of shifts you would like to work at each location in Minneapolis and Edina

  • Work with a collegial group of 40 Intensivists

  • Participate in rapid response team and code response

  • UMMC has a 65 bed ICU and Southdale Hospital has a 23 bed ICU

  • 100% night shifts

  • Shift Hours at UMMC in Minneapolis are 6-pm to 7 am, working in the MICU, SICU and CVICU.

  • Shift Hours at Southdale Hospital in Edina are 7pm to 7am, working in the MICU and Telehealth

  • Required to work 1600 hours/year, approximately 10-12 shifts per month on a rotation of 5 nights on/5 nights off.

  • Weekends include Friday – Monday; 1-2 holidays/year

  • Other night staff include house staff, ICU Critical Care APP’s, and surgical/CC/cardiology fellows.

  • M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center is an academic teaching hospital with 884-beds comprised of 2 hospitals that offers services including primary care, emergency care and care of patients with the most complex medical conditions. Specializing in solid organ transplantation, blood and marrow transplantation, heart disease and cancer.

  • M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital is a 327 bed community hospital with more than 40 specialty services serving the southwest metro.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Surgery residency program and critical care fellowship

    Board certified with in Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Surgery and board eligible/certified in critical care

  • Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA.
