Payroll Clerk
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, typically between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Hours may be flexed based on need.
CLASSIFICATION: ESP
Hourly Rate: $18.00 per hour
FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: This position will provide data entry payroll support. Assist with the accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of payroll. Assists with reviewing pay records for adherence to college payroll policies and in accordance with the government regulations and contractual provisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide documentation, data entry, reporting and processing support for bi-weekly payroll and retirement system operations.
- Maintain an awareness of contractual provisions regarding employee benefits and payroll for all employee groups.
- Maintain an awareness of changes and enhancements related to the Michigan Public Schools Employee Retirement System
- Maintain an understanding of annual limits related to retirement contributions, health savings accounts, and other structured employee deductions.
- Assist employees with completion of payroll documents and general payroll inquiries.
- Assist with processing of other payroll support related processes such as garnishments, tax payments, audit information gathering, employee leave usage, etc.
- Perform other duties as requested.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervised by Payroll Manager
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of associate degree in related area required. Will consider candidates that are in the process of obtaining an associate degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-2 years related experience preferred.
