Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 for NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter in Upper Manhattan, NY.
NYC Health + Hospitals/Carter, named after Henry “Hank” J. Carter, in recognition of his 50 years of support for New Yorkers with disabilities and more than $30 million in donations to NYC Health + Hospitals. Rated one of the Best Nursing Homes by Newsweek, Carter has a 164-bed CMS 5-Star-Rated Skilled Nursing Facility and 201-bed Long-Term Acute-Care Hospital (LTACH) that is nationally recognized for pulmonary care, with decades of experience in ventilator weaning.
The Food Operations Manager at this location will be a part of the food services management team responsible for supervising Sodexo managers and 37 client employees, providing high-quality, restaurant-style dining as well as in-room dining. Must be comfortable with client relations, budget compliance and patient experience. Union experience preferred.
The successful candidate will:
- oversee day-to-day operations and successfully coordinate all required tasks through frontline staff
- deliver high quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations
- manage all ordering and maintain appropriate level of inventory at all times
- develop and maintain effective employee, customer, and client relationships
- ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance
- have daily interaction with cooks and food service workers to ensure high quality of customer service and satisfaction are on track
- ensure Sodexo standards are met

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
