Start Date: 

Open Until Filled. This is a part time position requiring 64-71 hours worked in a two week pay period.

Qualifications: 

• Graduate of an approved School of Physical Therapy Assistant
• California Physical Therapy Assistant  License Current or Eligible
• Current BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers

Job Summary

Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, a Physical Therapy Assistant provides physical therapy services to persons in various stages of rehabilitation, utilizing tests and measurements, techniques of exercise, and properties of heat, light, sound, electricity, water, and massage. 

Duties

• Supports the goals, objectives, and policies of Oroville Hospital and Department of Physical Therapy
• Responsible for assisting with Quality Assurance programs
• Promotes and maintains professionalism within the Department, Hospital and community
• Treats patients under a Physical Therapist’s supervision
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate treatment records: treatment plan; short and long term goals; procedural documentation; timely progress notes
• Participates in in-services and continuing education seminars
• Attends and participates in department staff meetings
• Establishes communication with patient’s physician and other related disciplines
• Responsible for rotated weekend and holiday coverage
• Maintains a safe and clean environment for peers and patients
• Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements: Medium – is considered generally lifting not more than 50 lbs. maximum with   frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
