OVERVIEW:

We are currently looking for a VP, Associate Design Director, Experience Design XD to lead Science & Purpose’s newly expanded experience design (XD) team, which is responsible for collaborating with brand teams from UX discovery to launch, to develop exceptional digital products that are strategic, modern, and provide an optimal user experience.

This person will be responsible for overseeing a team of UX and UI designers, while

also being hands-on, contributing to the user experience, design, and execution for select projects. This position requires experience with end-to-end design process, from concept to execution. Responsibilities include understanding project requirements, generating creative ideas, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring design quality. The ideal candidate must possess strong creative, strategic, project management, and communication skills to deliver solutions meeting user needs and business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Has 10+ years of UX + digital design/art direction experience at an advertising agency or in a similar environment.
  • Proficient in the latest digital design tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC, and Zeplin
  • Portfolio showcasing a variety of UX + visual design projects, including but not limited to mobile-first websites and native phone/tablet apps (eg interactive visual aids, conference experiences, etc). Roles and responsibilities on each project must be clearly stated in the portfolio.
  • Experience collaborating with creative and development teams to implement UX principles/best practices, interface design, prototyping, and crafting scalable build kits.
  • An understanding of design systems, components, auto layout/CSS layout frameworks and a strong grasp of browser Developer Tools (basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript a plus, but not a must).
  • Knowledge of employing data analytics, user testing, and research to inform and validate design decisions
  • Ability to effectively communicate design solutions to stakeholders and project teams, as well as delivering persuasive presentations to clients.
  • Ability to navigate different stakeholder priorities and balance out business goals/KPIs with UX best practices and user needs
  • Detail focused, goal oriented, and well organized.
  • Maintain a clear and succinct communication style, taking initiative to drive projects forward. Approach collaboration with enthusiasm, valuing the diverse perspectives of team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has a forward-looking perspective, passion and curiosity about experience design (exploring new technologies, creating innovative experiences, and incorporating new tools/workflows, etc)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage a team of UX and UI designers who work across brand teams at the agency to execute best in class digital experiences.
  • Generate award-winning visual designs, and prepare assets and development build kits (including interaction specs).
  • Work with developers to provide annotated handoff and validate implementation
  • Partner with Project Management and Creative leads to manage the XD team's resources, timelines and workload.
  • Advocate for UX and accessibility best practices through each phase of design/iteration
  • Actively seek and share digital inspiration (creative, UX, technology, general digital trends) across the agency and with clients.
  • Partner with key people from around the agency to improve agency processes and workflows involving XD.

The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.

  • $171,000 - $184,500
