Job Description
Arcadis is growing! Arcadis is seeking a talented Project Manager to join our Education Architecture studio in the Houston, Texas office. This role sits within the Global Architecture & Urbanism Division which combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology. The successful candidate would manage all aspects of a project, from programming and conceptualization to construction administration and closeout for our educational practice group. This position will require ability to travel and work from the office and project sites.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Project Manager, your role accountabilities will include:
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while leading a team to complete each task ensuring to align each step to client standards
- Coordinating project design construction, and management with both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring quality control, project execution and code compliance
- Providing and updating budget estimates and schedules at each project milestone (developing a work plan ensuring to keep projects profitable and on schedule)
- Resolving design and technical issues within the project scope and escalate as needed to ensure project objectives are met
- Reviewing and processing submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests, and address RFIs
- Writing documents of change and reviewing contractor pricing
- Preparing owner and consultant contracts with the assistance of senior architects and the leadership team
- Preparing and presenting to community members and clients, including attending school board meetings as needed
- Mentoring junior staff.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent experience in a recognized Architectural Technology Program
- Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in educational architecture
- Architectural license in the State of Texas preferred but not required
- MUST be proficient in Revit with hands-on experience in a workplace setting
- Ability to understand how buildings are constructed and to create and direct others to assemble technical documents
- Experience with regulatory approval process/building plan check review and permitting
- Strong leadership, organizational, written/verbal communication, and relationship-management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Highly collaborative and a strong team player.
