The Project Manager must plan and develop the project idea. They need to create and lead the team, monitor project progress, set deadlines, solve issues that arise, work with funding, ensure stakeholder satisfaction, and evaluate project performance, including the performance of their team members. The PM will work and collaborate across departments to standardize knowledge and project management methodologies across the Workforce system.

  • Leads project teams of operational and technical area staff to complete assigned projects
  • Champion standard agile industry best practices, involving modern project management approaches, and incorporating change management strategies and workflows
  • Work with leadership in all functional areas on the continuous development/improvement of business processes to support cross-functional teams and to ensure that work is uniform, complete, and managed appropriately
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles, and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
  • Analyze, plan, and develop requirements and standards about scheduled projects
  • Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company
  • Maintains project task and status information using Microsoft Office 365 Suite applications such as Project, SharePoint, Lists, Forms, and others.
  • Proactively communicates to team members, executives, and funders to inform, drive action, and obtain decisions
  • Ensures that projects adhere to agency and workforce board policies and procedures as well as contractual obligations
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to influence others without authority
  • Ability to understand and interpret a variety of policies and procedures
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions
  • Able to think critically, analyze information, identify trends, and develop strategic courses of action
  • Experience with change within a large organization
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Computer Proficiency:

    • Excellent computer literacy skills
    • Strong understanding of data management & information systems
    • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 such as SharePoint, MS Teams, Lists, and Project.
