Description

Registered Radiation Therapist

Under the direct supervision of a Radiation Oncologist and under the general supervision of the Administrative Director, assists in the application of radiation by accurate positioning of patients and operation of Radiation Therapy equipment.   Prepares all equipment, treatment specific information and materials involved in the administration of that radiation according to the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.  The above statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements which may be inherent in the position.

Education – Graduation from high school or the equivalent.  A.A./A S. degree in Radiologic Technology or the equivalent and completion of a twelve (12) month specialized training program in Radiation Therapy OR A.A./AS. degree in Radiation Therapy Technology or equivalent.

Experience –One year experience as a Radiation Therapist is preferred.

Licensure/Certification – ARRT in Radiation Therapy.  Licensed in Maryland as a Radiation Therapist. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.
