Job Description

We are seeking a Development & Validation Engineer to design, develop, and validate transmission, driveline, and gear reducer components and systems. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional propulsion and vehicle engineering groups, including controls, calibration, thermal management, engine, and e-motor teams. The engineer will ensure that system performance, durability, and quality objectives are met from development through product launch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead system-level DFMEA development, requirements definition, DVPR, and test execution.

  • Conduct and manage validation testing to meet functional and durability goals.

  • Participate in post-test reviews, including failure analysis and triage investigations.

  • Support assembly plant activities to ensure smooth product launches.

  • Drive root cause analysis of development issues to improve robustness of function, performance, efficiency, and drivability.

  • Support field warranty and quality investigations by leading root cause analysis and validating corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or equivalent Engineering degree.

  • 3–5 years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission, Driveline, or Electrified Powertrain hardware, calibration, or controls development.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to manage multiple complex projects with a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering.

  • Experience in transmission and/or driveline design, development, and testing.

  • Knowledge of software, calibration, efficiency, and/or thermal management.

  • Strong understanding of transmission and driveline operation, including gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components.

  • Experience with in-vehicle or dynamometer transmission/driveline testing procedures.
