OrthoNebraska is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and detail-orientated Patient Financial Services Assistant Manager for Pre-Certification and Work Comp who enjoys working in a thriving, fast-paced environment.  This role will provide day to day leadership to the Pre-Certification and Work Comp teams, to promote organizational health through patient experience and financial performance across the Revenue Cycle.  Our focus is on accurately and effectively facilitating the communication between patients, our providers, and insurance companies. Teamwork is key within this department as we are dedicated to ALWAYS TRUE, in promoting trust, respect, understanding and engagement with all our team members.

Department/Position Details/Duties:

  • Ability to learn, evaluate and execute workflows that are unique to each department.
  • Educates, evaluates, and inspires team members as they seek to create the best possible experience for the patient.
  • Focuses on helping team members improve their skills and knowledge through coaching and development as well as being a subject matter expert for team members.
  • Processes PTO requests and bi-weekly payroll for all team members.
  • Provides timely feedback to team members and management regarding performance, projects, and initiatives.
  • Initiates and executes process improvement initiatives designed to improve workflow, service, and team member/patient satisfaction.
  • Uses working knowledge of the overall Revenue Cycle with a focus on quality Pre-Certification and Work Comp authorizations.
  • Maintains working knowledge of pertinent requirements and policies impacting the Patient Financial Services department.
  • Performs staff coaching and counseling including corrective actions with timely documentation of disciplinary action.
  • Ensuring consistent applications of organization policies and procedures across departments to maximize Pre-Certification accuracy.
  • Communicates clear expectations and trains existing team members on any policy, procedure, or system changes.
  • Provide hands on support when appropriate
  • Organizes and executes regular team meetings.
  • Monitor daily operating activity of department and make necessary adjustments in work assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in health-related field or equivalent education/experience/credentials required.
  • 2-5 years prior experience in a healthcare setting and working knowledge of EMR systems with emphasis on customer service preferred.
  • 2-4 years medical insurance experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Revenue Cycle preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to build high performing and high functioning teams.
  • Excellent coaching, counseling, listening and communications skills.

 Physical:

  • This position is classified as Sedentary Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (33%-66% of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
