We are seeking an experienced, versatile and highly skilled IT Specialist to join our team to work in a research life sciences environment. The ideal candidate will play a crutial role in automating laboratory processes, managing operational IT projects, and ensuring the seamless integration of technology in our research environment. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a deep understanding of scientific research processes.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement software solutions to automate laboratory processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy in research activities.
- Execute IT projects, including the deployment of new systems, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring they meet research needs and compliance standards.
- Provide technical support and training to research staff on laboratory software, hardware, and automation tools, ensuring optimal use and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with research teams to understand their IT needs, translating scientific requirements into functional and technical specifications and solutions.
- Maintain and administer laboratory information management systems (LIMS), laboratory instrumentation, from a software and infrastructure perspective, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in IT and scientific research, evaluating and recommending tools and technologies that can enhance research capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards, implementing and maintaining appropriate cybersecurity measures.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for the procurement, maintenance, and support of IT equipment and services.
- Document IT procedures, configurations, and standards, contributing to the knowledge base and facilitating knowledge transfer within the organization
