The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Associate or full Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT) to serve as Scientific Director of the multiple myeloma program. The successful candidate will join the Translational Science and Therapeutics Division (TST) and the Immunotherapy Integrated Research Center (IIRC) of the Fred Hutch, and the Division of Medical Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine at the UW. The primary appointment will be with Fred Hutch. Academic appointment at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank. The position will allow for outpatient and/or inpatient clinical service. Associate and full Professors (WOT) hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Fred Hutch and University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. This position is paid directly by Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and receives no UW compensation. The selected individual for the advertised position will foster an environment of collaboration and productivity with clinicians and laboratory scientists in the multiple myeloma and cancer immunology programs. Teaching opportunities include oversight of advanced practice providers and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations, and delivery of informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to providers and the general medical community.
