Civil Engineer (EIT) – Land Development

Company: Carlson Brigance & Doering (Represented by Luxus Group Recruiting)
Location: Round Rock TX
Salary Range: $70,000 – $95,000 annually (DOE)
Total Compensation Package: $80,000 – $115,000+ (including benefits and growth opportunities)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Civil Engineer (EIT) with 2+ years of land development experience to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects while learning from experienced engineers and project managers. You will play an important role in design, permitting, coordination, and construction support as part of a collaborative and forward-thinking civil engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Analysis

  • Assist in the design of civil engineering projects, including grading, utilities, roadways, and stormwater management.

  • Perform calculations for hydrology, drainage, erosion control, and site layout.

  • Develop and review drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Project Coordination

  • Support project managers with scheduling, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Collaborate with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones.

  • Help prepare cost estimates, proposals, and construction documentation.

Regulatory Compliance & Permitting

  • Assist with preparing permit applications for municipal, state, and federal approvals.

  • Ensure compliance with zoning codes, environmental regulations, and building standards.

  • Participate in meetings with municipalities, planning boards, and regulatory agencies.

Field Investigations & Data Collection

  • Conduct site visits to gather topographic, environmental, and utility information.

  • Document site conditions and provide recommendations for design solutions.

  • Support preparation of technical reports and analysis for clients.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Prepare presentations, reports, and design documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients.

  • Participate in design and project review meetings.

Professional Development

  • Receive mentorship and training from senior engineers.

  • Stay current with industry trends, design standards, and new technology.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

  • Certification: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required.

  • Experience: 2+ years in land development or civil engineering.

  • Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office (GIS experience a plus).

  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of environmental permitting and stormwater management.

  • Familiarity with project management software (Microsoft Project or similar).
