Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) Estimator to provide estimates and cost consulting and meet client objectives through the delivery of an effective cost management service for our key technology client. 

The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional who specializes in large scale data center constrution projects.

Responsibilities: 

  • Developing cost plans and estimates from concept through detailed design. 
  • Supporting Client land acquisitions and site preparation work. 
  • Delivering and presenting updated cost plans at appropriate design milestones. 
  • Reviewing proposed design changes/new technologies and prepare estimates within appropriate accuracy levels. 
  • Understanding design stages and estimate levels. 
  • Providing commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises. 
  • Preparing cash commit forecasts for the construction life cycle. 
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/ cost plans. 
  • Analyzing labor markets and cost drivers such as Unions & Tax. 
  • Supporting our clients with monthly presentations. 
  • Delivering Life Cycle Costing models. 
  • Benchmarking integration to ensure accurate data capture. 

Qualifications

  • Need to be critical thinkers Need to work with Conceptual Designs - drawing sets are not always available so the ability to take some initial information and develop ROM (Rough order of magnitude estimates) is important.
  • Value Engineering - working to find cost savings in designs with the client engineering team.
  • some occasional travel may be required to visit new client vendor sites and fabrication warehouses etc.
  • Good technical experience estimating all phases of construction projects; pre-contract, post contract and final account. 
  • Experience working on large-scale data center projects  
  • Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, G Suite AutoCAD Navisworks, and/or other related computer software. 
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player. 
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing. 
  • College degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience estimating large-scale construction projects.
