This is a full time 40 hour a week working 4 days per week and 10hr shifts from 7.30am to 6:00pm with rotating weekends and holidays. Extra pay for On-call duties. $10k sign on bonus for CVTs!
THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of the surgery technician I is to provide the highest degree of support to the staff surgeons, anesthesia technicians, support staff and animals admitted to the hospitals surgical service. The surgery technician I must excel in interpersonal communication skills and multi-tasking skills. They must be reliable, independent, and able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude. They should have the ability to recognize the needs of the various patients and staff. They will be involved in the continuous training of new surgery staff members and any visitors to the department. Recovering patients is part of their duties.
Some Responsibilities Include:
- Communicating and working closely with all staff members and visitors.
- Being able to work independently and within a group depending on the needs of the situation.
- Providing and ensure quality patient care peri-operatively.
- Assisting anesthesia technicians and others with inductions and recoveries when directed.
- Recovering patients with diligence and compassion.
Physical Requirements:

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least 1 year of veterinary technician/assistant experience in a surgical environment. Certified Veterinary Technician, CVT required for a technician role. As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
