Job Description

We are seeking an IT Security Administrator for a direct hire/permanent role in Denver, CO (Cherry Creek area).  

This permanent/direct hire role will be a hybrid role where you can work remote mostly (during the pandemic) with some in office/ onsite work at the office in the Cherry Creek area.  Since there will be onsite/ in office requirements for certain projects and some meetings, candidates who are local to the area or are interested in relocating to the area are encouraged to apply.  

In this mid-level role, you will manage network, firewall, and security operations to ensure security, high availability, and performance.  You will also ensure security of data and information systems through monitoring security systems, investigating anomalies, and responding to potential and actual security events.   Additional responsibilities include: 

Essential Duties

  • Monitors systems for potential security issues, including security monitoring, end point, anti-spam, anti-malware, security event and incident management systems.
  • Responds to potential and actual security events to isolate systems, minimize damage and data loss, remove malware, investigate and remediate attack vectors.
  • Provide guidance on minimizing security risk and maximizing protection of data and technology assets
  • Creates and maintains thorough documentation on system configuration, security incidents, and troubleshooting.
  • Maximizes network performance and ensures system availability by monitoring systems, troubleshooting network problems and outages, performing upgrades, and optimizing performance.
  •  Provide resolution of network and firewall issues, including firewall configuration, routing, switching, connectivity issues.
  • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access.
  • Manages projects to increase the security, reliability, supportability, performance, accessibility, and ease of use of firewall and network systems.
  • Design, configure, and maintain connectivity to partners and vendors.
  • Sustains the necessary data throughput rate by monitoring networking activity and maintaining network, firewall, and security systems.
  • Works with service providers to maintain the company phone system, fax system, and call center systems.
  • Respond to and resolve network connectivity issues.
  •  Monitor network, firewall, and security system resource utilization, trending, and performs capacity planning.
  • Provide Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues related to network and security systems.
  • Assist in maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting physical and virtual server infrastructure.
  • Assist in maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting network-based services: File and Print services, Email, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS/WINS 
  • Work with the Information Security and Infrastructure Manager to select and coordinate with vendors in the research, development, implementation, and operation of network, firewall, and security technologies
  • Work with vendors to troubleshoot incidents

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in network, firewall, and security technology implementation, maintenance, and support
  • 2+ years of IT Security experience 
  • Experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues

  • Experience with firewall configuration and operation (Palo Alto is in the environment currently) 

  • Experience with LAN and WAN topologies and architecture

  • Experience with security, networking, and firewall in the cloud

  • Working knowledge of Office365 environments, including Sharepoint, Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on technical experience
  • Experience with security, network, and firewall operations in Microsoft Azure environments
  • Certifications in network, firewall, and security
