We are seeking a licensed PhD-level Psychologist to join our team in West Virginia. The Psychologist will play a key role in conducting psychological and behavioral assessments, providing expert evaluations, and supporting providers, courts, and social service agencies. This position involves working with children, families, the Department of Health and Human Services (DoHS), and other stakeholders to promote effective care, sound policy, and evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive behavioral assessments and psychological evaluations for children, families, and adults.
  • Provide expert consultation and testimony for courts, DoHS, and other agencies as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to behavioral health and psychological services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community partners to ensure coordinated and effective care.
  • Offer professional support and consultation to providers when complex psychological or behavioral issues arise.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely evaluation reports and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and organizational standards and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or PsyD in Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Current and valid license to practice psychology in West Virginia (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Experience conducting psychological evaluations, behavioral assessments, and providing expert testimony.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior work with courts, child welfare systems, and state agencies.
  • Experience developing or advising on behavioral health policy.
  • Familiarity with West Virginia’s behavioral health and social service systems.

Work Environment:

  • Community-based and office-based settings.
  • Regular collaboration with courts, DoHS, providers, and families

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position, and core hours and workdays are Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm. This position may require evening or weekend work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
