Compensation Range: $19 per hour - $23 per hour 

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

Professional Psychiatric Services division under DBH prides itself on its close culture, clinical excellence, while focusing on helping patients sustain their mental health wellness goals and bringing a new sense of hope to those that are suffering. The Patient Care Coordinator will have a passion for helping those in need and will find joy in being at the heart of a positive, professional culture. They will enjoy talking to clients and enjoy supporting their staff in doing the same.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for initial patient consultations to evaluate the patient and concisely document findings while also educating patients about their treatment options
  • Educates patients about treatment details across all PPS service lines and the patient care plan prior to treatment and concurrently as appropriate during treatment  
  • Consult with clinicians in all service lines to identify patient needs and navigate identified patients into all medically necessary service lines.
  • Successful completion of TMS Certification (internal training and certification provided during the initial period of employment)
  • Maintains accurate and descriptive medical and clinical documentation, making sure documentation is legible and concise.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medical records, authorization forms, laboratory requisitions.
  • Recognizes and follows through appropriately with consultative intervention.
  • Establishes priorities, assess workload, and determine order of importance daily with minimal guidance to assist patients and prospective patients navigate and identify medically necessary service lines based on medical and clinical recommendations.
  • Obtains and documents patient's information for insurance authorizations and fee agreements.
  • Answers telephone in an appropriate and professional manner, takes accurate messages and promptly relays messages to appropriate individuals.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient’s treatment is rendered during approved authorization period
  • Provide excellent and compassionate patient care to create top level patient experiences while providing accurate treatment.
  • Serve as liaison between care providers and patients
  • Use of an Electronic Health Record
  • Build trust and rapport with individuals in order to improve patient care
  • Utilize clinical information and knowledge of medical necessity criteria to effectively communicate plans of care to insurance case managers, facility staff, and healthcare partners
  • Refer clients based on eligibility to TMS treatments, while also identifying the potential need per individual client
  • Prepare and discuss any financial obligations and insurance coverage with clients as it pertains to TMS or other services provided by organization
  • Successful completion of TMS Certification (training and certification provided during the initial period of employment)
  • Treating patients with our TMS system who are suffering from mental illness
  • High level understanding and computer skills including MS Office, Share Point and Teams required
  • Serves and protects patient confidentiality and physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and accreditation standards if applicable.
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

  • Associates Required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Medical, beauty, and/or cosmetic surgery consultant in sales industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills 2 years minimum.
  • Mental health experience preferred.
