Our Occupational Therapist (OT) holds a pivotal role within our team, actively identifying students in need of physical therapy interventions through thorough screenings and evaluations. They assess and treat individual children, focusing on enhancing their performance skills and developmental progress. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, the OT collaborates on designing and implementing effective treatment programs tailored to each student's individual educational plan. They emphasize the educational significance of therapy treatments, ensuring they contribute to the student's fullest potential and academic growth. Additionally, the OT plans and executes therapy programs within the educational setting, while also developing, implementing, and evaluating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on assessment data. Consultation and advisory services are provided to families, healthcare agencies, and community organizations as required, with ongoing collaboration with the student's physician. Moreover, the OT offers guidance and instruction to students, families, and educational staff regarding occupational therapy procedures, while meticulously maintaining accurate records and reports for each child served or assessed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Georgia license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and modalities.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and across various settings is preferred but not required.
