Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator is responsible for planning and implementing educational activities that align with the hospital's mission, goals, values, priorities, and resources. The Nurse Educator works collaboratively with other Educators to develop and evaluate the nursing orientation process and participates in formal orientation classes for new employees in the Nursing Department. Additionally, the Nurse Educator monitors staff competence, provides education on new equipment, and maintains training records.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement educational activities that are in line with the hospital's mission, goals, values, priorities, and resources
Work collaboratively with other Nurse Educators in planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing orientation process
Participate in formal orientation classes for all new employees in the Nursing Department
Monitor staff competence through direct observation, interaction with Nurse Supervisor/Manager/Director, and dialogue with the staff
Provide education to staff on the use of new equipment and maintain records of such training in their educational files.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of general medical and Endoscopy/Perioperative experience
Minimum 1 year experience as an Educator
Able to teach Preop, Intraop, Recovery, and Endoscopy
