ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all equipment
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct equipment using repair manuals, schematics, diagrams, and specs as well as diagnostic procedures.
• Ensure maintenance schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics, and other operational measurements are met for the maintenance functions.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Implement and monitor projects that impact specific functions to ensure objectives and timelines are met and works with management or other personnel as required to complete tasks.
• Assist with reviewing and coordinating general operations with all other functional areas.
• May perform various corrective and preventive maintenance and repair work that will involve skills within several of the following areas: mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, plumbing, welding, and other skilled trades depending on operational needs.
• Report ALL incidents through company’s reporting protocol.
• Support company safety initiatives.
• Demonstration of knowledge of all required competencies.
• Perform other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 1 year of industrial maintenance experience
• Working Experience in the marine mechanical industry is preferred

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to read/write/communicate in English
• Able to use basic math skills
• Must be able to follow directions
• Ability to work extended hours, including holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed
• Performing applicable maintenance activities
• Applying basic operational principles and practices
• Working with other functions throughout the organization
• Investigating and resolving maintenance problems
• Ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Communicating with co-workers to provide and receive direction

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain. Will work at different elevations, noise levels will be moderate-high. Job site will involve engine rooms, vessels, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools. Rotational shift work required. Minimum of 8 hours per day with a maximum of 16 hours may be spent in work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical nature of the work will vary from day to day based on operational needs; however the job will require the incumbent to be able to perform: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. Incumbent will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: Hard Hat, eyewear, safety vests, gloves, masks/ respirators (when necessary) and steel-toe boots.

Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/ or in excess of 50 lbs. frequently, and/ or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Applicant must have acceptable drivers’ history and valid TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
