About the Role: Machining cylinder rods, pistons, barrels and heads for heavy duty industrial, mining and construction hydraulic cylinders. Operating large lathes, mills, and drill and shop equipment. The ability to read blueprints, machine to print, and machine from sample part. Needs experience with running engine (manual) lathes.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, safe and professional work area.
Safely operated lathes, mills and shop equipment.
Quickly produce quality parts to close tolerances.
Work with a team of machinist and welders.
Machine steel, aluminum bronze, cast iron.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School graduation, strong mechanical background.
5 years machining experience.
Willingness to learn.
Excellent machining abilities.
Knowledge of cylinder construction techniques
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to climb a ladder.
Ability to work with a team.
Shift:
Monday - Thursday 8:30pm - 7:00am (Four 10-hour shifts) Will train on days.
Work Environment:
Exposure to elements such as odor, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
Manufacturing plant shop environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
Safety Glasses required.
Safety Shoes required.
Other PPE equipment as required.
