Job Title: Logistics Manager

Job Summary: IKM Building Solutions' Logistics Manager is responsible for trucking logistics, inventory, material flow, and production scheduling functions of IKM Building Solutions' Fabrication Shop. Some of the activities for this position are listed below:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate trucking logistics, including shipping and receiving of all materials.
  • Manage and keep records of warehouse and equipment inventory.
  • Fleet management.
  • Oversee the Tool Program, including the tracking of tools via tool management software, tool repairs, and tool storage organization.
  • Facilitate job box assembly.
  • Oversee project setup, execution, and budget.
  • Oversee invoice approvals.
  • Review and approve weekly timesheets.
  • Work with shop and field supervisors to manage fabrication and trucking labor.
    • Forecast labor needs and plan accordingly.
  • Identify and correct areas of improvement, including regular improvement goals.
  • Oversee Quality Control Program.
  • Develop and maintain production reports.
  • Manage and oversee the Material flow through production process.
  • Prioritization and scheduling of production; develop and oversee real-time, published schedule of production.
  • Oversee maintenance of property, including yard maintenance, snow removal, lighting, etc.
  • Assist with the development of annual capital budget requests.
  • Maintain organized work and storage areas.
  • When needed, drive company vehicles for deliveries, pick ups, etc.
  • Assist with loading and unloading material on vehicles.
  • Responsible for completing safety training as assigned and complying with all safety policies including PPE policies.
  • Develop and help implement safety and training policies and initiatives.
  • Maintain and document corrective disciplinary actions with fabrication and trucking labor.
  • Work closely with Fabrication Department Manager and Shop Supervisors
  • Performs additional assignments as requested and maintains a teamwork attitude.
  • Purchasing of internal supplies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, industrial, or engineering with a concentration in logistics, supply chain management, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with a manufacturing/production organization, preferably with demonstrated management and process improvement experience.
  • Must have experience with Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, word processing and email applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with all levels of management, employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Speak effectively before groups as well as individuals.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
