Job Title: Sr. Linux Administrator
Start Date: Within a few weeks of accepting offer (ASAP)
Job Duration: 6-month contract to extend or convert
Remote Info (& Covid Policy for on-site): Consultant should be on-site 4 days per week and remote 1 day per week (preference is Winston-Salem, NC but they are open to Radnor, PA).

Project Details:

  • Must be able to work in a team setting and help manage ~150 RHEL 7 OS installations that are installed on a mix of physical hardware, VMware VM’s, and Amazon EC2.  
  • Work with RedHat Satellite to maintain OS patching and security updates.
  • They will also develop automation tasks using technologies such as Ansible w/Tower, Python, Terraform and Bash scripting.
  • They will also perform CIS hardening and regular review of NESSUS security appliance compliance scan reports.
  • We perform user management through a HelpSystems BoKS application.
  • Candidate performs SFTP administration for incoming, outgoing, pickup of EDI files.
  • Candidate will also be expected to participate in an on-call rotation.
  • During this time the on-call person will monitor a team inbox for any requests / issues as well as respond to any Solarwinds/Everbridge alerts.

Must Have Skills:
1. 5 years of Linux Admin experience (Red Hat is strongly desired)
2. Scripting knowledge
              - Shell (Bash, ksh)
              - Python
              - Ansible
              - Splunk query language
3. VMware experience
Nice to Have Skills:

  • SAN experience preferred.
  • Firewall experience required.
    • IPtables/NFtables
  • BIND DNS Management experience preferred.
  • Basic networking understanding
    • Routing
    • Vlan
    • NIC bonding
  • UCS Hardware knowledge preferred.
    • UCS Blade hardware
    • UCS Manager
  • SNMP OS monitoring knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to provide technical documentation. Day to day responsibilities:
  • Managing the infrastructure in the data center
  • Scripting
  • Troubleshooting problems, administering discs, creating virtual machines on VMware
  • Closing tickets
  • Working on operating systems/storage tasks
