Primary Responsibilities:

1. Work directly with customers, suppliers and ADAC engineers to identify, develop and manage hardware requirements, architecture, design, test specifications, etc.

2. Lead the hardware design of next generation access systems by planning tasks, identifying, and mitigating risks, and guiding more junior engineers.

3. Participate in the System DFMEA, create, update, and release the hardware DFMEA, and utilize the DFMEA to drive a more robust design.

4. Work with the Functional Safety Manager to follow the relevant ISO26262 requirements to ensure the assigned safety level is achieved when functional safety is required by the customer.

5. Perform simulations to identify design weaknesses as early as possible during development.

6. Work with the software team to ensure successful system design and communication of hardware/software interfaces.

7. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to determine the best package space to meet customer requirements. Propose solutions which minimize risk to both mechanical and hardware aspects.

8. Lead hardware design and requirements verification, including worst case circuit calculations.

9. Support the test lab with creation and evaluation of verification equipment and providing procedural recommendations.

10. Lead EMC testing to ensure design complies to customer requirements.

11. Investigate alternative suppliers of electronic content for non-directed-buy suppliers for products.

12. Utilize a variety of methods to evaluate, assess, and troubleshoot electronics content contained in core product base.

13. Support technical aspect of program bids to customers by proposing designs and presenting at customer technical reviews.

14. Participate in hardware process improvement initiatives.

15. Mentor junior engineers to grow their technical capabilities.

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Ability to use Oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and other analysis tools

2. Experience with Altium Designer

3. Ability to root cause issues utilizing 8D and Fishbones

4. Ability to contribute to peer design and schematic reviews

5. Ability to quickly learn new technologies, processes, or skills

6. Ability to communicate complex information at a level that can be understood by varying levels of experience.

7. Makes decisions in a timely manner, acts with humility, and demonstrates initiative.
