Hours: 7:30am-4pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The Groundskeeper will assist with maintain the appearance of campus to include but not limited to cutting and maintaining all lawns and flower beds, trimming and maintaining all shrubberies and trees.
  2. Assist with snow removal during regular and off hours (as applicable).
  3. The Groundskeeper will assist with maintaining and annually checking the function and condition of the retention ponds throughout campus.
  4. Assist with implementation of new plantings and landscape designs.
  5. The Groundskeeper will assist with maintaining all fire trails and ropes course.
  6. Assist at time with office staff moves.

  1. Must be able to walk throughout the campus.
  2. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  3. Must be able to climb stairs and steps.
  4. Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
  5. Assist with use of step and extension ladders not to exceed 40 feet.
  6. Must be able to operate grounds equipment as directed by supervisor.
  7. Must be able to operate snow equipment as directed by supervisor.
  8. Must be able to do repetitive and strenuous work.
  9. Must be able to work under extreme temperature variations.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be 17 years of age or older to operate RTVs, mowers & tractors.
  2. Must have transportation to and from work.
  3. High school diploma or the equivalent preferred.
  4. If in recovery, 1-year continuous sobriety is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Must be able to demonstrate professional communication skills to include the ability to interact and work together with co-workers, patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
  2. General knowledge of the maintenance of lawns, flower beds and shrubbery preferred.
  3. Ability to follow verbal or written orders.
  4. Must be able to shovel snow and clear pathways on campus.

Competencies/Measurements:

  1. Ability to follow through with requests as directed by the Lead Groundskeeper. This will be measured by work orders and observation.
  2. Ability to interact and work together with fellow coworkers, patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner in a team setting. This will be measured by observation.
  3. Ability to perform effectively before, during and after emergency situations. This will be measured by observation.
  4. Must be able to properly use tools pertaining to the Grounds Department. This will be measured by observation.
