ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking an Environmental Engineer or Scientist to join the Environment & Facility Services team in our Williston, Vermont office. This professional will support our team of engineers and scientists primarily in the areas of assessment and remediation. The successful candidate will also partake in field investigation programs; carry out soil and geotechnical assessments to support site remediation and redevelopment; support regulatory permitting efforts to assess and cleanup soil, groundwater, indoor air, hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, etc.), and other media at potentially contaminated properties to support property transactions or redevelopment activities.

The preferred candidate will possess experience or an interest in developing the skills for the design of remediation systems and have the ability to travel to job sites throughout Vermont and Northern New York frequently.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Building Sciences or related discipline required
  • Typically requires 3-6 years of relevant experience; previous field work experience preferred
  • Current Vermont Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor certifications/licenses strongly preferred
  • Current Vermont and New York Asbestos Project Monitor certifications/licenses strongly preferred
  • Current Vermont Asbestos Inspector/Management Planner certifications/licenses strongly preferred
  • OSHA 40-Hour (HAZWOPER) and OSHA 10-Hour training preferred
  • Excellent writing and communication skills required
  • Familiarity using AutoCAD software desirable
