The part-time Nursing Education Consultant provides assigned consultation services on an as needed basis to administrators and educators in all types of programs, along with working on assigned special projects. This can be a remote position with ability to ravel to schools across the country.

This individual will need to have strong skills in one or more of the following areas:

  • Developing and teaching in a traditional, concept-based, and/or competency-based curriculum
  • Developing classroom resources including, but not limited to, PPTs, case studies, and discussion questions
  • Creating asynchronous professional development courses for faculty
  • Grant writing and review
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Accreditation site visit experience as team chair (CCNE, NLN-CNEA or ACEN)
  • Creation and implementation of program evaluation

Responsibilities

  • Developing and teaching in a traditional, concept-based, and/or competency-based curriculum
  • Developing classroom resources including, but not limited to, PPTs, case studies, and discussion questions
  • Creating asynchronous professional development courses for faculty
  • Grant writing and review
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Self-study review and mock-site visits (if applicable to skill-set)

Education & Experience

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or education heavily preferred; Master’s considered in relations to level of experience.
  • Current registered nurse license
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing education as an educator in a practical, associate, diploma, or baccalaureate program

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in basic computer technologies, specifically Microsoft Office, Microsoft outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Current proficiency presenting to small and large group audiences either in person, via conference call and/or in web enabled environments using PowerPoint and other technologies
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with faculty in all types of programs
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and deliver results in ambiguous environments
