The Company Driver has the responsibility for the transportation of product to and from various locations.

Shift:  This position will be a Monday through Friday - 5am-5pm

Pay: $21.00 USD per hour. Driver will be paid hourly.

 Company Driver Responsibilities: 

  • Transports deliveries locally or over the road according to manifest in a safe, responsible manner and in accordance with company procedures and applicable DOT regulations. 
  • Utilize tanker certification and van transport experience to perform multi-task duties involving localized, intra-state tanker and van shipments to and from the facility. Willingness to perform spotting activities of tankers and vans to meet the operational needs of the dry warehouse and liquid intake areas.
  • Ability to load and unload vans in a warehouse environment after completion of all plant forklift certification is completed. (to occur approximately 3 months after initial hiring and orientation)
  • Applies knowledge and abilities to safely load and unload deliveries according to size of load and content description. 
  • Processes shipment documents neatly and efficiently for each shipment and manages documentation discrepancies. 
  • Obtains and maintains proper delivery authorization and pickup documentation and submits in a timely manner. 
  • Provides good customer service and maintains a professional manner and appearance to enhance the company's image. 
  • Performs a daily DOT pre-trip inspection according to checklist and keeps an accurate copy in the vehicle at all times. 
  • Maintains company gas credit cards, and valid/current proof of insurance and registration in vehicle. 
  • Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions (wet, dry snow, or ice), and the ability to drive during the daytime and nighttime.
  • Responsible for routine fueling, lubricating, cleaning of vehicle and maintains minor emergency vehicle repairs.  Reports vehicle malfunctions to management to schedule repairs and maintenance to vehicle.
  • Recognizes and adheres to all site loading and unloading PPE requirements as applicable in each situation.
  • Maintains good working relationships with loading and unloading personnel at Actus Nutrition and supplier loading/unloading stations.
  • Possesses knowledge of weight laws, safety regulations and other federal regulations.
  • Occasional travel outside 100-mile radius.
  • Ensures all loads are properly sealed after loading is completed.
  • All company drivers are expected to learn and abide by supplier and customer site specific safety rules as conditions warrant.
  • Performs post trip inspections as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a flexible skill set around the needs of facility’s tanker and van shipments to and from the plant AND in between loading and off-loading areas.
  • Responsible for completing online transportation safety tests in a timely manner.

OTR Driver / Company Driver Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience tractor/trailer experience
  • Safe driving record
  • Must have current valid commercial driver’s license
  • Must have current tanker certification and experience

Licenses & Certifications Required:

  • State Drivers License
  • Class A CDL
  • Tanker endorsement preferred
