The Cybersecurity Engineer reports to the Director of IT, Infrastructure and Operations and is primarily responsible for cybersecurity of the IT infrastructure. This includes but is not limited to developing, managing, and maturing the cybersecurity program, audit processes, incident response and disaster recovery plans, staying current with cybersecurity news and events, staying current with industry cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST), etc. Engage with management to provide guidance and reporting on cyber activities, deficiencies and budgeting while also working with the IT engineering team to lead, advise, and direct cyber security standards across the technology infrastructure ecosystem. Responsibilities require both technical skills and physical abilities to accomplish. This position will work in the office.
POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cybersecurity Functions
Design, implement, and manage network security measures to protect the organization from unauthorized access, breaches, and other cybersecurity threats
Manage the FCS Cybersecurity program
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement necessary remediation actions
Monitor, investigate and remediate alerts from the FCS cyber tools
Manage and test the Incident Response and Disaster Recovery plans
Manage cybersecurity-related IT Policies & Procedures
Serve as a contributing member of the Compliance Committee
Perform quarterly audits on ePHI access, physical access, and network security
Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices. Manage outside audit team to deliver annual IT and HIPAA security assessments
Investigate security incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions. Lead remediation teams to resolve cybersecurity issues
Direct all IT cybersecurity efforts to secure and standardize network access
Implement and manage endpoint protection solutions to secure devices and endpoints across the organization
Develop and enforce security policies for end-user devices to ensure a secure computing environment
Stay current with cybersecurity news, innovations, trends, etc.
Attend training regularly through formal offerings and/or vendor provided seminars
Project Functions
Provide and/or assist in the project management of cybersecurity related projects
Perform special projects as needed
Support Functions
Receive and address all staff emails to the “spam” email distribution group and provide guidance
Provide Level 2 & 3 support for cybersecurity related issues to HelpDesk staff
Research, resolve, and communicate cybersecurity related issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
EXPERIENCE:
Must have 5-7 years of specialized experience in cybersecurity
