ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Operate a Class 8 tractor/trailer and/or truck to deliver ceramic tile and other products.
  • Adhere to an assigned delivery schedule, following all delivery requirements.
  • Obey all regulatory agency and company safety directives.
  • Call Supervisor to work with customers when necessary and report any instances of customer dissatisfaction.
  • Complete a thorough safety check on the truck before leaving domicile location to ensure that all delivery materials are firmly secured and all parts of the truck are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Obey all traffic laws and weight limits.
  • Call Supervisor and report any problems or irregularities with the truck or deliver.
  • Complete and file all ELD logs and required government paperwork in a precise and timely manner.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company standards, utilizing PPE as required.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Class A CDL license and a clean driving record
  • Two (2) years of over-the-road and/or local experience operating a Class 8 (80,000 GVW) tractor/trailer or successful completion of an accredited driving training school combined with one (1) year of over-the-road and/or local driving experience.
  • The ability to lift 50-75 pounds

  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees and customers High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1 year of experience in a related environment or equivalent training and/or education
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, SOP and standard work
  • Must possess shift and schedule flexibility of regular time (any shift that may include off-hours and/or weekends), and overtime, as needed
  • Must agree to follow safety guidelines and wear applicable safety equipment, e.g., safety glasses, side shields, approved safety shoes, and other PPE as needed.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to use a calculator; ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; able to communicate effectively and function in a team-based environment; ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

 

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK AND BREAKS:

Hours vary according to delivery locations and schedule. General work days are Monday thru Friday 12+ hours per day = 50-60 per week with occasional work on Saturday and Sunday.
