We are seeking a cleared Cable Technician to support our client in Huntsville, AL. Please see below for the job description and desired qualifications;
Job Description:
Pull, install, terminate and test CAT 6 and fiber optic cabling
Prepare/install cable pathways and supports
Running new cabling in new or existing spaces: CAT5e, CAT6, and 10gig 2
Testing/Troubleshooting network issues (Connectivity, other Low Voltage Cable associated issues)
Connects wires and cables to terminals, and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, and poles
Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, 66 Blocks, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware)
Perform MDF and IDF build outs
Cable Technician Requirements:
Ideally 1-2 years of experience installing structured cable and performing terminations and punch down work
Technicians should have prior experience installing telecommunication frames/support structures (cabinets, trays, racks, wall mounts, ladder racks, j-hooks, etc)
Operate test equipment to include: tones, twisted pair, checkers butt set, and cable scanners (Fluke DTX1800)
Experience working structured cabling projects with multiple drops
Excellent people skills, communication skills, and self-management skills
Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds
